ABSTRACT

This paper presents six factors that favor the experiential conceptualization of place via a consideration of drawing, model-building, design-build, and digital media design tools based on extensive research, projects, and interviews with designers. It includes six key recommendations for designers to enhance their design and visualization skills with regard to achieving a mediated yet more experiential understanding of future places and experience.
