Gabriele Stancato

Gabriele Stancato is an architect by education and holds a Ph.D. in Architecture Theories and Project at Sapienza – University of Rome.  Since 2012 his main research field has been parametric design and from 2016 to 2019 he was research and teaching assistant for the ITCAAD course and in Architecture and Urban Design Lab as well. In 2018 he also taught “Safety and Security in urban spaces” at Politecnico di Torino. His Ph.D. research “architecture of freedom and control”, focuses on how to match security solutions and human rights needs through freedom and privacy in architecture, part of this dissertation involved a participatory planning experience with the inmates of Padova prison to improve and expand laboratories, library, and other working spaces. He is currently a research fellow at the Urban Simulation Lab Fausto Curti, Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU), at Politecnico di Milano.
