Doruntina Zendeli

Doruntina Zendeli is an Architect by undergraduate education. She holds a master’s degree cum laude in Urban Studies from Politecnico di Milano, Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU), Milan (Italy). As part of her master’s studies, she had the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus Exchange program at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London.

Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at Politecnico di Milano in Urban Planning, Design, and Policy. Her research explores the relationship between cities, people and the urban climate through urban analytics and planning investigating urban health and heat resilience for outdoor climate retrofitting. Her doctoral studies are carried on in collaboration with academics from the Department of Urbanism, Section of Environmental Technology and Design at Delft University of Technology where she spent a year as a visiting researcher. In parallel to her academic endeavours, she collaborated with professional practices such as ARCADIS SRL in Milan, as a consultant researcher on urban sustainability in urban climate planning and design for ongoing urban development projects. In addition, she is engaged as a teaching assistant for different studio master courses at PoliMi.  Her research interests span from urban morphology, urban analytics, remote sensing, urban health to urban resilience. Committed to understanding and addressing the complexities of urban environments, Doruntina aims to contribute to the creation of more equitable, climate-proof and resilient cities.
