Pingge He is a PhD student at the Laboratorio di Simulazione Urbana Fausto Curti (LabSimUrb), currently enrolled in the PhD programme in Urban Planning, Design and Policy at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU), Politecnico di Milano. He received his Master of Engineering degree from Southwest Jiaotong University in China, and has developed research experience in urban environmental studies, GIS, and data-driven urban modelling.
His current research focuses on computational modelling of urban climate and urban environments. He aims to use spatial data science and artificial intelligence methods to better understand urban environmental processes and support more climate-sensitive and sustainable urban planning decisions.
His research interests focus on the application of GeoAI, remote sensing modelling, computer vision, deep learning, and large language models in urban environmental research. He is particularly interested in using multi-source urban data and intelligent computational methods to reveal the relationships between urban spatial structures, climatic and environmental conditions, and human perception and activities. He has led and contributed to peer-reviewed publications in related fields, and has also served as an anonymous reviewer for international journals in urban studies and sustainable development. Through interdisciplinary and data-driven research, he hopes to provide new methods and perspectives for addressing urban climate challenges and supporting sustainable urban transformation.
